DKG Surf Boat Profiles

This section of our website features some of the more successful boats that have built by us at DKG. The results of these particular boats are a reflection the dedicated hard work that our customers have put into their sport over the years.

The first Boat is a sentimental favourite of mine and a lot of other people.

The Oak Boat , Kurrawa S.L.S.C.

We built this boat in 1999 and it was used in the 2000 Australian titles placing 3rd in the Open boat. The following year 2001 I was lucky enough to win the Australian titles sweeping in the Open boat. The crew at the time was Mick Richards, Ross McPhillips, Angus Wilson, Peter Mackie and myself.

This boat was something special back then and with changes of crews and personnel at Kurrawa over the years the Oak Boat is still the favourite of many rowers and sweeps that have sat in her.

The results of this particular boat is nothing short of phenomenal, it is still being raced to this day at most carnivals.

The Oak Boat has been a quality built boat from DKG, winning countless races and always being up there in the finals over the past 7 years due to quality crews and the commitment from the people that row DKG Surf Boats.

She is a legend boat! I hope she gets a good home in the rafters of Kurrawa S.L.S.C. some time in the future.
